What is VRX and VRm Library
VRX is a toolkit for interactive 3D visualization of data using Virtual Reality (VR). It combines functionality of VTK (Visualization Tool Kit) and Open Scene Graph library with interactive VR interfaces, providing you possibility to explore your data in 3D dimensions. VRX is a visualization module of the VRm (VRmeer) Library, which provides the interactive VR part. VRmeer library that has been developed in the course of a larger VRMeer project by the VR group at the TU Delft. VRMeer is an ongoing research project and some parts of VRm library are not part of the open source software distribution.
The VRX 2.0 bundle includes only the core of the VRMeer library as Open Source Edition (OSE). For more information see VRX documentation.
Software dependencies
* VTK 5.0x
* OSG 2.4
* VRPN v.7.17
* ILMBASE (libHalf)
These dependencies can downloaded from the internet.

The current VRX toolkit (version 2.0) is based on VTK v.5.0, a publicly available open source visualization toolkit. The VRm library provides a Virtual Reality API on top of the scene graph library OpenSceneGraph (OSG v.2.4) and the tracking library VRPN v.7.17. Several visulization techniques in VRX use GPU and require libFloat from IlmBase of OpenEXR. OSG, VRPN, OpenEXR are publicly available as open source.
Prefered operating system for VRX and VRm OSE is the Linux. Recently tested on kernel 2.6.24-21-generic. Both 32-bit and 64-bit complilations of VRX work.
